I am so impressed with the camp. My daughter is loving learning all about Japan. I’m very impressed with the curriculum and the hands-on learning. She told me she played baseball yesterday, which is a popular sport in Japan. I also love that you take the kids outside for lunch and other activities, when you can. Many camps do not even try when the weather is nice.
Travel with us across the Pacific to learn about the countries where Kempo was born!
Our journey will take us to geographic marvels, sacred temples, colorful festivals, and countless other realms of intrigue. But put your books and pencils away, kids! This is a Summer Camp, and we are going to learn by DOING (which, of course, might mean getting good and messy). We certainly will be doing a workout each morning and afternoon. It’s Kempo Camp!
My son is having a GREAT time at camp this summer! He is SO happy and full of information when I pick him up. This is the BEST camp in Northern Virginia!
Renshi Cassie loves leading this camp and can’t wait to meet her new campers!

Of the long list of different camps that my son experienced this summer, his two favorites–hands down– were Kempo China and Kempo Philippines. He tells me he enjoyed all the activities (and even after care, which he describes as being “so much fun I can’t even describe it to you”), and for my part as a parent I really appreciated that the camps were so well structured and organized with fun, educational, and enriching activities, and that the schedule was so transparent and well-communicated. I really liked knowing ahead of time what sort of things my child would be doing and learning each day so that at pickup time I could have a real conversation with him about his day. I also liked that the schedule included both intellectual and physical and sensory learning, so that he was keeping up with his martial arts skills while also exploring other cultures and trying new experiences (he now asks for plain rice with soy sauce for a snack!). Bravo! We will definitely be back next summer!
When I signed her up for camp, I thought she’d have a good time learning martial arts. I never expected this awesome curriculum. You were totally right about this being a fabulous camp. I am SO amazed!!!!
